DESSERY BIOMS
Most hot and dry deserts don’t have very many plants. The only animals that are able to survive there have to borrow underground. Because they would not be able to live in the hot sun and heat. They only come out at night when it is a little cooler.
Dessert cover about one fifth of the earth’s land. In hot and dry desserts vegetation is very rare. For plants to survive in the hot and dry desert they have to have adaptations. Some of the adaptations for them are for them to be able to store water for long periods of time and also to be able to stand the hot weather.
ADAPTATIONS IN THE DESERT
How do organisms in the desert interact with each other and the environment?
Animals look for food and shelter through the desert plants and plants need animals to help them grow flowers
Many animals depend on cacti and other large desert plants to provide for them water and cacti and other plants depend on animals to provide for them pollen to help them grow more spikes or sometimes flowers.
In the desert camels pulls pull vans and deep in the desert camels are the only things being used as transport.. Camels are also important for food in the deserts, people normally eat meat of the young camels. Camels eat cactus and camels also get water from the cactus
Camels are albe to adapt to thr desert because of
1. They have two rows of eyelashes which protect it against the blowing sand
2. They have fat stored in their humps which help it to survive long without food and water
3. They have nostril which can be closed which keeps out sand from going into their nose
4. They have thick fur which provide warmth during cold night and against heat during day time
5. They have flat and hairy parts at the bottom of their feet which prevent the camels feet to sink in the sand as they take a step
RAINFOREST ECOSYSTEM
Rainforests ecosystems are found near the equator, the center imaginary line of latitude that runs east and west around the earth. Tropical rainforests have more rain that in other areas. The weather is warm and humid all year long. There is lots of sunlight.
Living things are abundant in the rainforests. There are thousands of species of animal and even more kinds of plants. Their needs for sun, water and warmth are all met by the conditions of the rainforest. The excellent conditions allow them to thrive. There is an amazing amount of variety of plants in that one location. This variety makes the rainforests a major source of the earth’s overall oxygen supply.
Tropical rainforests have layers of life. The uppermost layer is the canopy. Very mature tall trees stretch out their branches and leaves, nearly blocking out the sun in some places. Many animals live high in this green, leafy habitat. You can find monkeys’ tree and many different species o
